Get Involved

We are the busiest amateur theatre company in the country (and probably in Europe!) with over 30 shows being produced this year out of 4 venues. We are constantly casting and looking for volunteers. There is no joining fee or script fees etc it's all done for absolutely no charge to you...just your time!

Many of us have some drama training and many are first timers who have no experience whatsoever in that field. However if you want to act we will ensure you get on stage no matter what your experience is. But it's not all about just acting, the actors can't strut their stuff without all the back up of volunteers helping out in Front of House, wardrobe and Props or Stage managing.

Social nights are held on the first Friday of every month in the theatre Undercroft Bar and is a great way to meet and socialise with other members and new comers. In the first instance why don't you come down and visit to see what we are all about.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help us in various roles:

  • Stage Hands
  • Stage Management
  • Set Construction
  • Set Design and Painting
  • Set Dressing
  • Wardrobe
  • Props

If you are interested in Theatre Making, looking for a friendly environment, have a few hours you can volunteer (when you can) and would like to support your local theatre; then this is a fantastic team to be a part of.

Front of House

As a charity, our theatre relies on our dedicated volunteer team to help run the Front of House:

  • Box Office
  • Bars
  • Ushers

When you volunteer to work these departments on a show night, you are allocated a seat to watch the show as a Thank You for supporting our theatre.

Technician

We have 3 full time trained technicians in theatre sound and light. They run regular courses for those members wishing to know more about this area of stagecraft. Once trained the members then join our cadre of technicians authorised to run all technical aspects of shows.

Director

With 30 shows being performed just this year alone, our doors are always open for directors to lead a cast and bring a show to life.

Artistic Director, Kevin Fraser would like to hear what show you would like to direct for NEXT year and what this show would entail for staging, set and cast numbers.

As part of our package for directors: all new directors will be required to take part in a Directors Course; Available twice a year, the course offers full extensive training on how to direct a show.
