National Theatre Connections 2023

We are very proud and excited to announce that TFT have been accepted to take part in National Theatre Connections 2023.

Out of thousands of applicants they chose us. Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK's most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow.

Titchfield Festival Youth Theatre, headed by Stuart Hibbard will be directing one of National Theatre Connections Brand New Plays Old Times by Molly Taylor.

This complex play dives between a today and a time 6 years earlier. In the today, a group of older teens meet to resolve their issues of something they were involved in years earlier. Their younger versions live the story through memories of the today.

Moving through three or four generations all appear in this play that is truly terrifying. What made Tom Joy do what he did? Was he really responsible? And how do all the others who were there that night carry the burden of blame?

This incredible opportunity will see Titchfield Festival Theatre collaborate with National Theatre, develop new opportunities for our young performers aged 14-19 years including performances in both our own Acorn Studio at TFT and at Chichester Festival Theatre. National Theatre representatives will be present at your performance and if chosen, the play may be invited to perform at National Theatre in London.
