Any Dream Will Do….

Take your seats.. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat is coming to Titchfield!

Since its first performance back in March 1968, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat has entertained millions of people – and is one of Britain’s favourite musicals for all the family. Next month, Joseph brings his astonishingly multicoloured dream coat to Titchfield Festival Theatre – opening 5 April.

Told entirely through song with the help of the Narrator, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat follows the story of Jacob’s favourite son Joseph and his eleven brothers. After being sold into hardship by the brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar but ends up in jail after refusing the advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled showman, the Pharaoh. As Joseph strives to resolve Egypt’s famine, he becomes Pharaoh’s right-hand man and eventually reunites with his family.

Sassy Harvey is TFT’s Deputy Artistic Director and is directing the show:

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat was the very first musical I ever watched as a child and the impact it had on me was profound: I remember all the spectacular costumes, set, singing and of course Philip Schofield in the lead role. It was a fantastic memory with my family, and I wanted to bring that family experience of theatre to TFT.

“The production will be a very special one for all of us. This will be the first time that we have a 15-piece orchestra joining our show to play the wonderful score. Alongside a cast of over 30, it is one of the biggest casts and crew that we have had in one of our shows.

“There are so many wonderful songs in the musical that I’m sure will get the audience tapping their feet and singing along, whether it is Any Dream Will Do, Song of the King, Go Go Joseph and many others! All the family will enjoy this fantastic musical. Escape the humdrum of the day-to-day and come along for a great night out!”

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat performs from 5 – 15 April including three matinée shows during the two weeks. For more information including booking tickets, please go to http://titchfieldfestivaltheatre.com/ or contact our Box Office on 0333 666 3366.
