From lighting to fighting - get involved!

We're expanding our educational and community offer to include even more training in acting, directing and technical courses all for free. The training is managed by both in house tutors and external professionals.

Coming up 7th March is a Technical workshop run by TFT Techical Director Scott Mills. This first session will cover lighting, sound, stage management and other technical aspects of working in theatre. Scott's aim is to find out where participants want to focus, then to offer future courses in single technical subjects.

On 14th March, TFT Director Kevin Fraser is running a one-day Theatre Directors' workshop.

Also in March, leading Fight Director D J Johnson will be running Fight Workshops for actors in preparation for The Three Musketeers, which will be staged here in May. DJ has been working as a fight director and stage combat tutor for several years, teaching theatrical and filmic violence to many theatres and educational bodies; including Drama Centre, Central Saint Martins. He’s also The Marlowe Theatre's Creative Development Stage Combat Tutor - having recently worked with them for their performance of Julius Caesar, (in association with the RSC) and for their National Theatre Connections program.

In mid-April, budding directors will also have a truly amazing opportunity to take part in a four-day Directors' Workshop run by Brendan Murray. Brendon's teaching includes work for The Department of Education, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, LAMDA, Sheffield Hallam University, Rose Bruford College, The Actors' Institute, Italia Conti and Drama Studio London.

Zia McBean, Principal of Dante Academy of Performing Arts in Whiteley, Fareham runs acting classes here twice a month.

Please contact us if you are interested in any of our courses, or want to be kept in touch with future opportunities.
