The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a magical and engaging story performing at Titchfield Festival Theatre from 24 November to 2 December. Join four siblings on a thrilling journey through a magical wardrobe that leads to a land trapped in an eternal winter.
Stuart Hibbard is director of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe:
“C.S. Lewis' story has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love the magic of the story, the characters are so big that you just want to see them come to life on stage. In my view, it is one the greatest stories ever written.
“The stories are incredibly engaging and appeal to audiences of all ages. I have also adapted it; this is not a musical version but there will be music to enjoy.
“I love this play as it beautifully captures the innocence of youth, the magic and that feeling of wonder. I believe that C.S. Lewis’ work appeals to so many of us because it crosses between the human world and fantasy, allowing the reader or watcher to be part of it. C.S. Lewis was a very good friend with Tolkien whose work is set in Middle Earth, entirely filled with fantasy characters. Each of us can picture themselves in Narnia. The new Arden theatre at TFT gives us just that more space so that we can really make the show something to remember.”
Come along to see a fabulous cast performing The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe next month; a fast-moving story with great characterisation… and one or two tricks that will make the audience relive the show in their memories for years to come!
